The new processors will be based on the Zen 5 architecture, which is rumored to provide a 20-30% IPC improvement over Zen 4. They will be socket compatible with existing AM5 motherboards and support features like PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 memory.
If you have a Ryzen 7000 series PC already then you may very well skip this release and wait for the X3D parts that will be available later.
